The New York State Chimney Sweep Guild is proud to present our 17th Annual Summer Workshop. Our mission is to provide education to chimney professionals, and we have been providing that since 1982. The summer workshop is held at Chris and Ingrid’s Priors place nestled in the foothills of the Adirondacks and close to Lake George and Saratoga NY.
Our main educational focus this year will be “The Great Fireplace Burnoff” - participants will build various fireplace designs (under the leadership of Chris Prior, Walt Kelly & Glenn Luse) including the Tek Spec 3, Modified Rumford, Straightback Rumford, the Priorfire and others who may be interested in bringing their pre-fab designs. All of them will be lit simultaneously on Saturday night.(CEU’s to be applied for) The NY Summer Workshop 2009 officially begins at dinnertime on July 23rd. Industry expert Royal Edwards will be on hand for discussion on subjects you may need to know the answers to. He is one of the foremost technical experts in our industry in the country. This is a not to miss event!!
Camping is available (primitive no electric or water at site) onsite but most camp onsite - with port a potties and hot showers. Chris and Ingrid also have an in-ground pool. (Lifeguards on duty 12-5pm Friday and Saturday) Meals included beginning dinner Thursday through Sunday breakfast. There will be our famous top-burn, the auction of all auctions, tons of food (including the Galway Methodist Church Famous Chicken BBQ), fun, camaraderie and the band “The Sootprints” (our own in house chimney sweep band)” will return for the second year!
